Javier Catena is the Director of Ginkgo Advisor for Spain and Portugal. In this role, he is responsible for identifying, structuring, and implementing investments in urban regeneration and real estate transformation across the Iberian market. He also oversees the development and maintenance of relationships with institutional and private investors in Spain and Portugal.

Javier brings nearly thirty years of experience in real estate investment, property development, and large-scale asset transformation, including retail, residential, logistics, office, and hospitality sectors. Before joining Ginkgo, Javier served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) at El Corte Inglés, where he was in charge of operations, real estate, logistics, and supply chain management. He oversaw the strategic management and transformation of one of the largest private portfolios in Europe, with a gross asset value (GAV) of approximately €16 billion.

Javier holds a law degree from the Complutense University of Madrid and completed the General Management Program (PDG) at IESE Business School. He leverages his extensive industry experience and strong relationships with Iberian investors and stakeholders to support Ginkgo’s investment strategy and growth in the region.
